American Idol and David Archuletta (AAAAAAHHHH!!!) Just kidding

So on Tuesday we ran to Utah and went to see the American Idol concert, which was awesome. Everyone was screaming so loud for David Archuletta that you could hardly hear him talk. (Jill was taking this photo so her and Shannon and Marc aren't in it, sorry guys)

Our group was on the calmer side you could say, except for McKinley who got to come with us on the promise that she would be VERY good. She was dancing in the aisles having a great time!

And this is the last part of the concert, after she spilled a snow cone all over herself, changed into her pajamas and decided to call it a night and right during David Archuletta, what timing!

Swim Lessons

So the past couple of weeks we've been making the trek to Shelley every morning with the Cannons to go to swim lessons. It was McKinley's first year and she did a great job, she loved going and was pretty proud of herself. Thursday was the last day and they got to go off the diving board and the slide. She did really great on the slide but when it was her turn for the diving board she walked out to the edge and then sat down it, pretty funny!

4th of July...a little late

So most of have probably read Hailey and Jill and Whitney's blogs by now and know that for the 4th of July we went boating, had a family golf scramble and went bowling and to a movie. Here's weekend from our perspective. My Mom and Dad on a semi-crazy tube ride. What a fun couple, they were great sports! McKin making sand castles. Garrett and McKin having a good time on the boat.
Halle gets amazingly still and cuddly on the boat, I love it!
I do have to say that at our little golf scramble I wasn't planning on being much of an asset to my team. I haven't golfed for 5 years and I was 7 months pregnant after all. I jokingly asked everyone not to fight about whose team I was on. On hole #3 I decided to take a whack at it and came about 2 feet from getting a hole in one! I was in shock, too bad the streak didn't continue for the rest of the day. I did however get the highest score in our family in bowling the next day, not a bad weekend overall! After boating we went to my parents and had a great dinner and fireworks show, who needs Melaleuca when you have Kim Wahlen? That's what I think anyway. We stayed up late playing Rock Band and Mormon Bridge and then the next day did bowling and the movie.

The girls also got a fun 4-wheeler ride from Bompa, thanks Dad! Thanks to the fam for a great 4th weekend!

Happy Late Birthday Jill

With all the craziness this past weekend, I hadn't gotten around doing a post for my sister Jill whose birthday was on Sunday. Jill is a great sister with a great sense of humor and is really fun to be around. She can also give a dang good hair cut. We've missed her since she they moved to Ogden but we are just lucky she still isn't too far away. Hope you had a good one Jill!

Happy Birthday Babe!

Today is Chan's birthday, the big 29! So here's a little shout out to him on his big day. Without getting too mushy, I can't imagine anyone being better for me than Chan. He's a great husband, father, provider and my best friend. The Daw girls are very lucky that he's ours. Babe - I hope you have a great day! Love ya!

Happy Birthday Tanner

Well my little brother Tanner's birthday was Friday and he won't see this since he is serving a mission for our church in Detroit Michigan right now, but I still wanted to give a little shout-out for his birthday since we all miss him so much! Tanner is the coolest brother anyone could ask for (besides Garrett). He is the best kid, always tries to do what's right, is so fun to be around, way talented and very smart. We love getting his letters each week and are proud of him for being such a great missionary. Elder Wahlen - if you ever see this, the Daws hope you had a great day and love you a lot!

Feelings

So during our ritual morning battle over what McKinley will wear, things were getting a little heated.

McKinley said "You are hurting my feelings."

I said "Well it hurts my feelings when you act like this." (real mature I know)

McKinley says "No it doesn't, you don't have any feelings."

So apparently the next life lesson I need to focus on is that she doesn't have exclusive rights to "feelings." But last night she told me I was the best mom in the whole world ever, so maybe it's not so bad.
