New York, New York

We had a wonderful trip to New York, here are some of the highlights.....
Our hotel was one block from the World Trade Center site and right on the Hudson Bay, it was in the "financial district" for those who know what in the heck that means. On Thursday we got a "hop on, hop off" tour around town and got off at Rockefeller center. It was really cool to see it all in person. We then checked out the NBC experience store and were this close to buying Justin and Amber an authentic Dundie award and/or Dwight bobblehead (to commemorate Halloween), but then decided Amber is way too classy of a designer and it might not end up in a true place of honor. Chandler did however make it out with a "Michael Scott fun run for the cure rabies awareness.....yada, yada, yada" shirt so he was excited. We then took an NBC studios tour and got to go on the set of the Today Show, Nightly News, and see the MSNBC room while they were filming. We toured the rest of town and saw the Manhattan Temple and the buildings where Yoko Ono, Ricky Martin, Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton live to name a few. All in all a good afternoon. Then we went to get ready for Phantom of the Opera. We took a taxi to "restaurant row." (apparently not one person in New York can recommend a good place to eat) and then went to Phantom which was amazing!
Here's Chan next to the World Trade Center site, which really looks like nothing but we wanted to document it.Me in Times Square, it was freezing

Friday we woke up very early to try to get tickets for Conan O'Brien and thought we were golden but at the last minute they only took tickets 1-25, we were 29 & 30. We then went to the Today Show and Chan was on TV! It was pretty cool to see it live. We also went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and saw some cool things, you could be there for a week and not see it all..

Saturday we went to Wicked! This is my new favorite musical of all time, I would take the trip to New York again just to see that. We also saw the Empire State Building, Central Park, and ate at Tavern on the Green. The "highlight" of the day besides Wicked was buying some fake Gucci and Prada bags out of the back of a hair salon in China town, it was quite the crazy experience and I felt like I was doing a drug deal.
Sunday we got to come home and we were so excited to see our girls who we missed so much, thanks to everyone who helped out so we could take this little fun trip. We had a great time!
